Finishing: Acrylics and Touch Up

Seems everywhere you look these days, when it comes to residential
and commercial interiors, some shade of grey is used in the color
scheme. Be it the the interior woodwork, wall colors or furniture, it's
everywhere and just like in the home or at the office, things will always
get dings that stand out and will need to be touched up. I usually use
acrylic paints for this because they dry quickly and are inexpensive.
Just perusing the internet you'll find virtually thousands of shades of
grey. Matching these colors can be quite frustrating to say the least
so this is my little trick that really speeds things up.
Using a white index card make a round 1/2" hole on one half
of the card which will be your "window." Lay the card on the surface so you can
see the color you are after in the hole on the left and use the other side of the index card as a palette to test your color match. This also works in virtually any color matching situation.
